Giving Tuesday: Start A Fundraiser Honoring a Little Warrior

For Giving Tuesday, we're gathering up Little Warrior family and friends everywhere for a virtual fundraiser. Anyone can start a Fundraising page in honor of – or memory of – a Little Warrior.

Our fundraising tool allows you to tell your story, showcase photos of your Warrior, and gives you a ton of tools to run your fundraiser for Little Warrior Foundation. We encourage you to start a team to maximize your fundraising reach!

There's promising research and trials out there, and we're calling on the community to help fundraise in honor of your favorite Little Warrior.

Fundraising will officially kick off on November 20th, but you can start getting your page set up so you are ready to hit the ground running!

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the fundraising begin?

You can create your page any time, but the fundraising doesn’t open until November 20th. We want to get a little bit a head of Giving Tuesday. (Target has been sending us Black Friday stuff since September, so we don’t feel bad starting Giving Tuesday a week early!)

When does it end?

We have an end date of Dec 31st. While the big push will be November, there’s a tremendous amount of year-end generosity and we’d love to keep the campaigns open.

Is this a contest?

Nope, It’s EVERYONE vs. Ewing Sarcoma. If you raise $10 or $10,000, we’re endlessly grateful. When Ewing’s loses, everyone wins. Yes, there are leaderboards — but we’re all rooting for each other.

Should I sign up a Team or and Individual?

We strongly suggest you start a team, even if you don’t plan to invite members. Co-workers, coaches, family-friends, or long-lost acquaintances may surprise you and join your team. That’s when you see the power of the network effect. But you can sign up solo too!

I’m not super tech-savvy. Can I still participate?

Absolutely. The platform guides you through the process of getting your page set up, and we’ve got mini-tutorials to help you along the way. And if you find your self in a bind, you can always email Emily@LittleWarrior.org

I’d love to do this, but I don’t have the time or the mental bandwidth. Any advice?

“When in doubt, delegate or delete!” Trust us, we’ve been there and the LAST thing we want is for a Warrior or Warrior-family to be (further) overloaded! You can suggest a family member or friend set up and run campaign.

Or, you can just sit this one out. From one Warrior-fam to another, we understand.

Can I set up a page in memory of a Warrior?

Of course! You can fundraise in honor of or memory of any Warrior including long-term survivors and angel warriors.

Can I set a page up in honor of a friend?

We love that idea. We suggest that you have the permission of the Warrior (or their family) to respect any privacy wishes they may have - but  we think many would be honored.

How do i get a custom social media graphic like the one in the example?

Email Emily@littlewarrior.org a few approved photos of the honoree (and their name, obviously). We’ll pick a photo that works best in this format, create the image and email it back to you! Voila!

When will the social media templates and copy be available?

Before 11/20! Check back soon!

Is this funding the mRNA vaccine trial at Cleveland Clinic?

This funding isn’t earmarked for a particular trial, however that trial is the top fundraising priority of the foundation currently.

Can businesses donate? What about employer matches?

Yes, there is an option for businesses to contribute to a Warrior Campaign. And we love employer matches too. Contact Emily@littlewarrior.org if you have questions.

My Aunt just handed me a check what do I do?

Give her a big hug. We can process offline donations and make sure your team is credited for it.  Checks can be payable to Little Warrior Foundation and mailed to Little Warrior Foundation PO Box 2124 Brookfield WI 53008-2124. Be sure to indicate in the Memo line which team/page it is for!

My neighbor just handed me a wad of cash. What do I do?

Don’t ask too many questions (kidding). You can enter offline donations into the system. And then at the end, it’s usually best if you save the cash to pay babysitters, and submit a check for the amount. Checks can be payable to Little Warrior Foundation  and mailed to Little Warrior Foundation PO Box 2124 Brookfield WI 53008-2124.

Please don’t mail cash.

Someone wants to give via a Donor Advised Fund?

Most excellent! Have them contact Emily@LittleWarrior.org. We’ll get them set up to give via their DAF, and make sure their donation is reflected on your campaign total.
