Chris Polvoorde + Little Warrior Foundation: The Origin
Sometimes, you meet someone on the side of Pikes Peak mountain at 5am. You hit it off and later they give you a ride down the mountain in a bright-blue three-wheeled… thing with your Disney process suitcase strapped to the top. And it all feels like kismet — this was meant to happen.
Little Warrior Foundation has put some fantastic people in our lives at JUST the right moment. Christopher Polvoorde is one of those people. (And not just because we needed a lift down the mountain.)
Christopher Polovoorde is one of the most successful off-road a racers in the country, at a mere 21 years old. From 1000 mile races through the desert, to high-flying short track races — Christopher is does it all.

We met exactly 1 year ago, at an ungodly early hour at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. We were representing Little Warrior with Tanner Foust and BBi Autosport, and Christopher was representing one of his many sponsors, OPTIMA Batteries. His car rental had fallen through, so he BOUGHT a three-wheel vehicle – a Snyder – off Facebook Marketplace so he could make it to the mountain.
Between the Porsches, BMWs, Teslas, and other finely tuned race cars, Christopher’s blue Snyder puttered through the pits and parked prominently in front of the OPTIMA trailer. A real beaut.

We clicked with Christopher right away — a remarkably humble and down to earth guy. He took an interest in our cause, volunteered to help hand out flyers, and helped explain the racing world to us newbies. We sent our car down the mountain with exhausted kids and exhausted grandparents, without calculating how we would get down ourselves. Christopher volunteered to take two of us, and our Disney Princess suitcase down the mountain in the Snyder. That ride — with real questionable brakes, no seatbelts (don’t tell our kids), and three wheels on a road that requires 4 — was full of laughs and white-knuckles gripping on to whatever we could find. Christopher - the professional - was cool as a cucumber. (He cancelled his flight and drove the Snyder all the way from Colorado Springs to his house in Southern California.)

Like us, Christopher knows one speed — and that’s full speed. He invited us to join him at the famous Crandon International Raceway this weekend for an iconic race. In addition to letting us photo-bomb his spotlight, he offered to give one lucky winner the ride of a life time. A ride-along on the Crandon short track!
We’ll be there this weekend and Labor Day weekend running a sweepstakes to gets to ride shotgun with Christopher! We’re talking helmet, fire-suit, 5 point-harness, Go-Pros, lots of dirt, and all the adrenaline.
While a ride-along in the Snyder was thrilling, we can’t wait to see who has what it takes to ride shotgun with him at Crandon!
We’re so grateful to Christopher Polvoorde and his team for making this happen. Weird fateful events put us together, but their big hearts and hard work turned it into something awesome.
